Out of hours services are for urgent medical treatment. You should only contact them if you cannot wait until the next day to be treated.
When your GP practice is closed, you can contact a GP by phoning the out-of-hours service on 03000 242424. The service is available from 6.30pm to 8am Monday to Friday, and at any time during weekends and bank holidays.
Once you have contacted the service, a GP will normally call you back to find out more about the problem. If necessary the GP will then arrange a home visit or ask you to attend an emergency medical centre.
Outside normal working hours, phone the emergency dental service in Brighton and Hove on 03000 24 25 48. This service is available from 5.30 pm - 10.30 pm on weekdays and from 9 am - 5.30 pm on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.
If you have an urgent mental health need outside normal hours, call the GP out-of-hours service on 03000 242424.
You can contact the out-of-hours district nursing service by phoning 03000 242424. The fax number is 01273 390882. The service is available from 8pm to 8am, seven days a week. It works alongside the out-of-hours GP service to make sure people get the right care for their needs.
