Appointment of Brighton and Hove City Teaching PCT chair

The Appointments Commission has appointed Julian Lee as Chair of Brighton and Hove City Teaching Primary Care Trust (PCT) for four years, from 1 April 2007 - 31 March 2011.

Mr. Lee has held executive, non-executive and advisory roles in a range of high profile organisations. His executive posts include Chairman and subsequently interim Chief Executive of Allied Carpets Group plc (1996-2002), Chairman of Carpetland Ltd’s MBO (1992-1995), Chief Executive of Hollas Group plc (1994-1998) and Chief Executive of the Bricom Group Ltd (1986-1991).

Mr. Lee has had no declared political activity in the past five years, and will receive remuneration of £32,500 pa. His other appointments are with the Financial Ombudsman Service, the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, and the Department for Transport’s MCA Advisory Board.

Mr. Lee become Chair of the PCT for an interim period between August 2006 – March 2007 and has now been formally appointed.

This appointment was made in accordance with the Office of the Commissioner for Public Appointments Code of Practice. All appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process. However, in accordance with the Nolan recommendations, any declared political activity is made public.
