Brighton and Hove City Primary Care Trust (PCT) has approved proposals to revise the practice area of a GP practice in the city.
The Hangleton Manor Surgery in Northease Drive, Hove, used to be the branch premises of Queen's Road Surgery, in Queen's Road, Brighton. Due to changes at the practice, the two surgeries are now independent of each other, and it has been agreed that the practice boundary will be split into two separate areas.
The Hangleton Manor Surgery's practice area is now from Boundary Road and Foredown Road in the west to the A27 in the north and down from Nevill Road and Sackville Road to the Kingsway seafront in the south.
The Queen's Road Surgery's practice area is now from Neville Road and Sackville Road in the west to Dyke Road, Highcroft Road and the A23 south of Preston Circus in the east, with the seafront as the southern boundary.
The combined practice area is not reduced.
The practices have given assurances that any existing patient now residing outside of the catchment area will not be de-registered as a result of the change.
The PCT has advertised for permanent replacement GPs for both surgeries. In the meantime the PCT is employing locum GPs to provide services at each surgery.
