Engaging and involving people

Health and health care are vital issues for everyone – which is why we want to involve people from every part of Brighton and Hove in discussions and decisions about local NHS services.

Our activities cover three broad areas:

Engaging local communities in our work

We use a number of ways to capture people’s experiences and opinions including our Patient Advice and Liaison Service, complaints information, working with community groups, and surveys.

More information about our engagement activities and how you can be part of them.

Real Accountability

All primary care trusts (PCTs) have a duty to provide information about consultations carried out during the financial year April 2009 - March 2010 that had an impact on commissioning decisions.

NHS Brighton and Hove has a live, frequently updated report on all consultation activity, the feedback gathered and its impact on commissioning decisions.

Working with partner organisations

We have close ties with other local NHS organisations, with Brighton & Hove City Council, and with many local charitable and voluntary organisations (including some who link with hard-to-reach groups on our behalf)

Consulting on proposals for service change

See the section on the right of this page for details of any current consultations.
